* Freebie Friday *

Freebie Friday!!

It’s Friday! Yay! TGIF. So the weekend is here and that gives me lots to look forward to. Two days with my girls and my hubby where we get to spend the whole day together fishing, swimming in our pool and just enjoying each other. I always look forward to Friday’s every week so I decided to start freebie Friday’s. The weekend plus an awesome book to read that costs you nothing to read it? Um, yeah, that sounds awesome!

This week I picked Beauty from Pain by Georgia Cates.

They agreed on three months…but their love knew no boundaries.

Jack McLachlan is a winemaking magnate and easily one of Australia’s most eligible bachelors. His success and wealth makes him no stranger to the complications of romantic relationships and that’s why he goes to extreme measures to avoid the hassle. He prefers simplicity in the form of a beautiful female companion with no strings attached. He arranges relationships like business deals and they’re always the same. No long term relationships. No real names.

It’s his game and his rules. He’s content to play as usual, but when Laurelyn Prescott enters his life, his strategy must change because this player is like none he’s ever encountered. His world is turned on its head after he begins a three month affair with the beautiful American musician. Nothing goes according to plan and as he breaks more and more of his own rules for her, she’s exceptionally close to becoming something he never thought possible. His ultimate game changer.

Beauty From Pain is an adult contemporary novel and is not intended for younger readers due to mature content.

I read this book over a year ago and I freaking loved it enough to buy the paperback just so I have both the e-book version and the paperback version.

It’s currently free. Check it out and get your #oneclick on. You cannot go wrong with this book.

Tall Girl Problems… These Are Real, People

I was blessed with ridiculously long limbs and like every tall girl out there I hate it when other people ask me how tall I am. It drives me insane. Do not ever ask a tall girl how tall she is because chances are high she’s thinking about punching you in the throat when you do. The last time someone asked me how tall I am I was out of town and in a grocery store I’ve never been in before. He worked for Pepsi (his shirt said so) and was stocking pop on to a shelf. When I walked past him he chased me down. “Excuse me, ma’am. Can I ask how tall you are? Cuz you’re like taller than I am.” *Sigh* The dude was maybe 5’7″. Of course I’m taller than he is. I mean, WTF? Alright, so I didn’t necessarily want to punch him in the throat, but I for sure envisioned kicking him in the shin.

If you see a tall girl please don’t do any of these things:

  • Ask her if she plays or has played basketball.

smdh. Being tall does not make a person athletic or automatically good at basketball.

  • Ask her how tall she is.

This shit gets old and frankly it’s none of your damn business.

  • Tell her she has big or manly hands.

Do I even need to explain this one? I don’t think so.

  • Ask her to sit in the backseat.

Hello! Long limbs don’t fit in small spaces.

  • Do you mind moving to the back?

*sigh* I’m not even going to go there.

Here’s some more things you should know ~

Never Tell A Tall Person That They Are Tall

Please, I am unaware of this fact and I do not want to go into extreme shock when you point out the obvious to me. Please, spare me this.

When You’re Tall Every Hug Is Awkward

This is no lie. My boobs will be in your face, and, admittedly, I have nice boobs but they’re not yours to play with.

No, The Weather Up Here Isn’t Any Different.

Seriously? This shit got old in elementary school. Give it a break already.

Oh, I’m Too Tall To Wear Heels?

Do not tell me what I can and cannot wear. Shut your mouth and enjoy how fabulous these heels make my long ass legs look.

What you should have learned from this :  If you see a tall girl keep your mouth closed and enjoy the view.

Have a lovely Thursday!

Day and Night Book Tag

Thank you Escape Into Pages for tagging me! It’s taken me forever to actually get around to doing it, but better late than never! 🙂

D: Do you read more at morning or at night?

I am not a functioning human being in the morning, even after I’ve had coffee, so I will have to go with night.

A: Are there any books that have changed the way you think about things?

Oh my gosh, yes. Too many to name, but there have been a lot of them. Not always for the better. There have been some books that have ruined things for me, or changed the way I saw certain things. There have also been books that I’ve read that have made me fall in love with things that I originally thought I hated.

Y: Young Adult or Not?

Ooh, this is a really good question. Both. I’m a series reader. Vampires. Shifters. Demons. Angels. Hot alpha men with control issues. Bikers. Gypsies. I love them all. The more books in the series the better, and I don’t care whether or not they are YA or adult. That being said, I think YA owns with the Vampires.

A: Are there any characters you honestly believe to be real?

For sure. There are also a whole lot that I want to be real, that I’d love to be real. I mean, how cool would it be to have Tex make your coffee every day?

N: Nobody borrows my books or I don’t mind lending them out?

I’ll loan my books out to anyone, both Kindle and paperback. I will, however, freak out on you if you don’t return my books to me in the same condition that I loaned them to you in. But, that’s normal, right?

D: Do you ever smell your books?

No. And I think this question is weird.

N: Not everyone likes books. Is this a positive or a negative?

Is this even a real question? It’s a negative.

I: I keep my books in the best condition or maybe I don’t? Which are you?

Maybe I don’t.

G: Gosh I have too many books! True or False?

False. You can never have too many books.

H: Have you ever stained your books with something? If so, how?

I don’t know that I’ve stained them but I’ve certainly dropped them in the bathtub on occasion. Does that count?

T: Toned or untoned while reading? Do you work out while you read?

I sure do. I ride my exercise bike every day with my nose in either my kindle or a book.
